5/16/2013- San Francisco Decorator Showcase at 2800 Pacific Ave
Here are some sneak peek photos (weren’t allowed to take pics but I tried to squeeze some in!) from the Decorator Showcase. Each room in the house was designed by a design firm and boy did they have their way with their spaces! There was a great range of practical to conceptual spaces. Before reading the plaque, I instantly loved the office designed by Kelly Hohla from Jeffers Design Group. Why am I not surprised?

I noticed quite a pattern of so many young girls dressing up as beautiful Disney Princesses, no matter where I looked 95% of the “ideas” were the “How to’s” of how to dress your little girl like a Disney Princess…We chose 5 women (five amazing and strong women), as it was her 5th birthday but there are thousands of unbelievable women (and girls) who have beat the odds and fought (and still fight) for their equal rights all over the world”

How To Hide Your Kid’s Clutter - Solution #1: Storage Ottoman
When you lack time and energy, things either stay on the ground as is or pile up like m- - - - - ….I mean, hay. You could purchase tons of storage bins or cabinets but it will always look like “Hey, put your crap inside here!” Don’t get me wrong, I love storage. But what do you do when that “orderly storage” style is just not you anymore? One of my favorite go-tos are storage ottomans. By going the custom fabricated route, I think it makes a huge difference on style, look and feel. It started with an idea then a sketch.. now look at it. This mighty orange looking thing is 38” in diameter and ready to be filled will toys and miscellany. The plush Schumacher velvet is my favorite because it’s soft to the touch for baby but still looks luxurious and tailored for adult gatherings.

Semi-oldie from 4/27/2013 - San Francisco Electric Run
We wanted to light up the night so el wire seemed fitting. It was a pain to stitch on because I naturally get distracted and obsessed with making each stitch perfect. Yeah, yeah, no one will notice but it had my name on it. Took a total of three days to make both shirts. The bf was great help ~ he prepped the design in advance with masking tape. I appreciated the prep work but later realized (hours after agonizing over small turns in the design) I had the short end of the stick. Oh well. It’s all done and over with. Where do I wear my light-up heart top now?
A little tidbit: I wanted to reference to ‘again by heart’ but after much trial and error I had to drop the text.
Hooker’s Lips
This rare plant is named Psychotria elata. It is more commonly known as the Flower Lips, Hooker’s Lips or Hot Lips plant. Some people refer to them as Mick Jagger’s lips. The plant forms bright red bracts (specialized leaves) resembling the lips of a woman wearing red lipstick. These plants are found in the tropical rainforests of Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama and Ecuador. Due to deforestation, these spectacular plants have become endangered.
These plants are totally flirtin’.
